UW Men’s Soccer ranked 12th in preseason poll

The reigning Big Ten champion Wisconsin Badgers men’s soccer team is ranked #12 in the United Soccer Coaches poll that was released on Tuesday afternoon.

The Badgers are coming off of one of the most historic seasons in school history, advancing to the Sweet 16 of the NCAA tournament and clinching the program’s first-ever outright Big Ten tournament title.

Wisconsin returns captain Isaac Schlenker, junior starters Robin Olofsson, Mitch Guitar and Noah Leibold, while also welcoming several new faces to the roster this fall.

The Badgers return to Madison on Tuesday for team meetings before starting preseason training over the next two weeks. Wisconsin opens its season with two exhibition matches against Eastern Illinois on August 14 and UIC on August 18. The regular season officially begins on the road at Grand Canyon University on August 24.
